Looks like America is starting to discover Bond, Young Bond. Charlie Higson’s first Young Bond novel SilverFin has been nominated for a 2007/2008 Isinglass Teen Read Award.

Similar to the UK’s Southern Schools Book Award, The Isinglass Teen Read book award was begun in Barrington, New Hampshire in 2001 as collaboration between the public library and the middle school library. In 2005 the award became a state-wide reading experience. Each year 7th and 8th grade students are asked for suggestions of books they feel are great. The ITR committee members read the suggested books and select the top twenty books which then form next years list.
