The official Puffin Blog has surveyed the executives of Puffin HQ as to their favorite books of 2008 and recommendations for 2009. Among the responses is this nugget from Puffin Marketing Manager, Emily Cox, which I believe is the first official word on Charlie Higson’s new post-Young Bond series:

“Hot tip for 2009

A new series coming from Young Bond author Charlie Higson in September.  I can't tell you what it's called at the moment, but I've just finished reading and it's INCREDIBLE!”

Also of note is Acting Editorial Director, Amanda Punter, naming By Royal Command her “Book of the Year.” Senior Editor, Jacqui Butler, gave that honor to SilverFin The Graphic Novel.
