The Bookseller reports that Charlie Higson will contribute a short story to the new anthology, Wow! 366, due for release by Scholastic on August 4, 2008. Wow! 366 offers "mini stories from massive writers", with 366 tales told in just 366 words. One pound from each book (priced at £6.99) will go to a major children's charity.

"We are promoting this as a book of stories that someone can read to their children at bedtime, or teachers can read after registration or at assembly," said Scholastic m.d. Elaine McQuade.

Of course, one wonders if Charlie’s contribution might be the Young Bond short story he spoke about during the Hurricane Gold launch party last September? I don’t know (yet), but at a mere 366 words, it seems unlikely. Charlie has said he’d like to write non-Bond stories for kids, so...
